11.5 days in Korea: From Gyoengju to Hahoe village

วันนี้รีบออกไปขึ้นรถเมล์เที่ยวแรกเพื่อไปวัด Bulguksa เท่าที่เห็นมาวัดนี้เป็นวัดที่สวยที่สุดในเกาหลีเลยค่ะ แล้วก็ได้รับการรับรองจาก UNESCO ในปี 1995 คู่กับ Seokguram Grotto ให้เป็นมรดกโลก ขนาดไปถึงแต่เช้านักเรียนเป็นร้อยๆก็ไปถึงก่อนเราอยู่ดี เพียงแต่โชคดีที่เค้ายังตั้งแถวกันอยู่หน้าวัดเราเลยได้เดินสบายหน่อย พอเดินในวัดนี้ได้เวลาพอสมควรก็นั่งรถเมล์จากหน้าวัด ไปที่ Seokguram Grotto ซึ่งใช้เวลาประมาณ 15 นาทีเท่านั้น จริงๆแล้วใครจะเดินก็ได้นะคะเป็นทางขึ้นเขาวิวคงดี วันนั้นเราอยากขึ้นไปเช้าหน่อยเลยเลือกรถเมล์ ใครจะไปตรงนี้ดูเวลาดีๆ เพราะรถเมล์ระหว่างสองที่นี้มีแค่ชั่วโมงละคันทั้งขาไปและขากลับ

This morning we left early to catch the first bus to Bulguksa temple. In 1995, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Seokguram Grotto, which lies four kilometers to the east. Although we were early, it didn't mean that we were earlier than a few hundred school children. Luckily, they were only gathering in front of the temple and listened to their teachers' explanation, so we had some peace to look around. After seeing the main sites in the temple, we took a bus to the grotto. It took only 15 minutes.

Seokguram Grotto เป็นพระอารามหินที่มีพระพุทธรูปอยู่ข้างใน วีธีการสร้างน่าสนใจมาก ใครอยากรู้ให้ดูหนังสารคดีที่ Gyeongju National Museum นะคะ ตอนไปถึงมีนักเรียนเข้าแถวอยู่ยาวเหยีดไม่รู้กี่สิบโรงเรียน คุณครูโบกมือให้นักท่องเที่ยวอย่างเราผ่านคิวไป พวกนักเรียนได้ดูพระอารามไม่กี่วินาทีเองเพราะต้องไหลตามกันไป แล้วพระอารามก็เล็กนิดเดียว

Seokguram Grotto is a hermitage that overlooks the Sea of Japan (called East Sea in Korea), and shaped by hundreds of different granite stones. A stone Buddha statue is in the middle of the chamber. When we got there, a massive queue of school children was waiting to have a glimpse of the grotto. As individual tourists, we had privilege to cut the queue. Those school kids could only have few seconds inside the grotto since they had to keep the queue moving on. Poor them... Still, watching the short film at the Gyeongju National Museum, which shows the construction of the Seokguram Grotto, was actually more interesting.

จาก Grotto เราก็ไปดู Cheonmachong Tomb เพราะหลุมนี้เป็นหลุมที่เปิดให้นักท่องเที่ยวเข้าไปดูได้ เมืองนี้ทั้งเมืองเต็มไปด้วยหลุมศพที่มีลักษณะเป็นเนินดินสูงกระจายทั่วเมือง หลุมที่ทำการขุดและเปิดให้นักท่องเที่ยวดูได้มีเพียงแค่หยิบมือเดียว เลือกดูดีๆนะคะ

Back to Gyeongju: the whole town is full of grass-covered burial mounds. Our next destination was Cheonmachong Tomb because this was one of the handful tombs where tourists were allowed inside.

ลาจาก Gyoengju ตอนเที่ยงๆ นั่งรถเมล์ไป Andong รถเมล์หรูนั่งสบาย มีการจอดพักทานอาหารด้วย(แต่ไม่ฟรีนะ) พอถึงอันดงก็ต่อรถเพื่อไปหมู่บ้านโบราณฮาฮเว (Hahoe) ชื่อหมู่บ้านฮาฮเวนี้ได้มาจากรูปลักษณ์ของแม่น้ำที่โค้งโอบรอบหมู่บ้าน ฝนตกหนักตอนที่เราไปถึงทางเข้าหมู่บ้าน เลยเข้าไปหลบฝนหาข้อมูลกับ Tourist info ซะพักใหญ่ เจ้าหน้าที่แจกตารางเดินรถเพื่อไปที่สำคัญๆในเมืองอันดงมีประโยชน์มากทีเดียว แล้วก็กางร่มคันใหญ่พาเราไปซื้อร่มด้วยนะ

We said good bye to Gyeongju around noon and took a comfy bus to Andong. From Andong, a local bus took us further to Hahoe Folk village. "Hahoe" got its name from the shape of the river that bends around the village. It was raining heavily when we got to the entrance of the village, so we went straight to stay dry inside the Tourist info office. The staff here handed us vital information about the bus timetable to all the sites in Andong. They were generous to walk us under a big umbrella to a shop nearby where we turned into happy owners of a Korean umbrella.

ก่อนเข้าหมู่บ้านต้องเสียค่าผ่านประตูด้วยนะคะ แล้วก็นั่ง Shuttle bus จากทางปากทางเข้าไปในหมู่บ้านได้ เราต้องหาที่พักกันในหมู่บ้านเพราะอยากอยู่บ้านแบบโบราณอีกครั้ง แต่ฝนยังตกอยู่เราไม่อย่างเดินแบบเปียกๆพร้อมสัมภาระ เลยเข้าไปดูพิพิธภัณฑ์หน้ากากที่อยู่หน้าหมู่บ้านก่อน ได้เห็นหน้ากากแปลกๆเยอะดี

We paid a visit to the Mask museum in front of the village, since we didn't want to search for an accommodation in the ongoing rain. The museum had many weird looking types masks from Korea and all over the world on display, which we had never seen before.

ชาวบ้านที่นี่หลายบ้านได้แปรสภาพบ้านเป็นเกสท์เฮ้าส์ ที่พักที่เราพักคืนนั้นทำอาหารเย็นให้ด้วย ก่อนเวลาอาหารเราได้ไปเดินดูหมู่บ้านช่วงก่อนค่ำได้บรรยากาศดี แต่ฝนก็ยังมีพรำๆอยู่นะคะอากาศเลยเย็นพอสมควร อาหารเย็นเป็นแบบง่ายๆแต่อร่อย ชาวบ้านเค้าอยู่กันอย่างเงียบๆวันนี้เลยนอนเร็วหน่อย

Many of the villagers transformed their houses into guesthouses, and we chose one that served dinner. It was a bit cold because of the rain, but we still went for a walk to see the village in dusk while our dinner was prepared. The dinner was simple but very delicious. It was all quiet in the village, now that the day tourist were gone, so we went relatively early to "bed", which was again a heated linoleum floor!
