11.5 days in Korea: Peace in Haeinsa and a fight at Jagalchi

ฝากกระเป๋าไว้ที่โรงแรมแล้วรีบไปขึ้นรถเมล์เที่ยวแรกตอน 6:30 น.ไปวัดแฮอินซาซึ่งอยู่บนเขา Gaya รถเมล์ใช้เวลาประมาณหนึ่งชั่วโมงครึ่งก็ถึงหน้าวัด เราวางแผนกันว่าจะใช้เวลาที่วัดนี้ประมาณสามชั่วโมง หนังสือไม่มียังไงก็คงไม่ได้ละเลียดดูรายละเอียดเท่าไร เมื่อเดินผ่านประตู Iljumun เข้าไป สิ่งแรกที่เห็นคือกระดานแสดงรายละเอียดการเข้าพักที่วัด, การปฏิบัติธรรม และกิจกรรมอื่นๆ น่าเสียดายมากๆ ที่เราไม่รู้เลย ไม่อย่างนั้นจะรีบมาให้ถึงวัดตั้งแต่บ่ายวาน คนข้างๆจ๋อยไปเลยด้วยความเสียดาย

We took the first bus at 6:40 to Haeinsa temple, located on Gaya mountain. It took about one and a half hour. We planned to be there for three hours. No reason to linger longer without guidebook. The first thing we saw after walking past the Iljumun gate was a board advertising a temple stay! If we would have known, we would came here since the day before. Alex was a bit upset to learn about it a little too late, especially since we were also one day late for the annual Tripitaka Koreana day, about which we didn't know either. But that's jumping ahead.

เราเห็นกลุ่มผู้ปฏิบัติธรรมเดินตามหลวงพี่องค์หนึ่งซึ่งกำลังอธิบายรายละเอียดต่างๆในวัดอยู่ ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโปรแกรมสำหรับผู้เข้าพัก ทำใจกล้าๆเข้าไปขอแจม ท่านก็อนุญาต เลยได้เกร็ดเล็กเกร็ดน้อยเกี่ยวกับวัดที่หาอ่านไม่ได้จากแผ่นพับ แล้วก็ทำให้รู้ว่าเมื่อคืนวานเค้ามีงานแห่พระไตรปิฏกซึ่งมีแค่ปีละครั้ง เสียดายอีกแล้ว หลวงพี่ยังหนุ่มอยู่มากแต่พูดเรื่องธรรมะได้ดีทีเดียว ทัวร์จบลงตรงอาคารที่เก็บตู้พระไตรปิฎกไม้ (Tripitaka Koreana) หนึ่งในมรดกโลกรับรองโดยองค์การยูเนสโกนั่นแหล่ะค่ะ

We saw a group of people on a temple tour as part of the temple stay. With a monk as a guide. How cool was that! No problem to join in. We got good information about the temple and Dharma (Buddha's teaching), which you can't find it in any brochure. The monk was young but seemed to have a deep knowledge of Dharma. The tour ended at the Tripitaka Koreana. which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ในวัดมีสำนักงานท่องเที่ยวเล็กๆด้วยค่ะ และที่ตรงนี้เราก็ได้ดูหนังสั้นๆ 10 นาทีเกี่ยวกับการทำและเก็บรักษาพระไตรปิฎก พอออกจากห้องดูหนังก็ได้ยินเสียงกระหึ่มก้อง มีหลวงพี่สองรูปโชว์การตีกลอง เคาะระฆังอยู่เลยวิ่งไปดู เร้าใจดีค่ะ We saw a 10 min film at a small tourist info office in the temple that showed how the Tripitaka Koreana was made and maintained. It is worth watching if you have time. After coming out of the movie room, we heard a stimulating sound. Two monks were sounding the old temple instruments, including a huge drum and a big bell. ปรากฏว่าใช้เวลาอยู่ทีเขาแห่งนี้กว่าห้าชั่วโมง เพราะมีอะไรให้ดูเยอะ นอกจากส่วนอาคารหลักที่แวะตอนแรกแล้ว ยังมีอาศรมที่น่าสนใจหลายหลังกระจายกินบริเวณกว้างมากๆ ใช้เวลาขนาดนั้นก็ยังดูไม่ทั่วเพราะต้องเดินขึ้นๆลงๆตามทางบนเขาด้วยน่ะค่ะ ตอนขึ้นไปถึง Jijokam hermitage มีพระเอาน้ำชามาให้ดื่ม รู้สึกแปลกมากๆ เพราะเคยแต่เอาของไปถวายพระ At the end, we spent over 5 hours in the temple and surroundings. There were so many interesting places to see beside the main buildings. They were spread around the Gaya mountain which we had to walk up and down along the mountain. Still we couldn't manage to see everything we would have liked to see. At the Jijokam hermitage, we enjoyed a great view of Gaya mountain, and tea served to us by a monk! ก่อนกลับไปขึ้นรถเมล์แวะทานอาหารกลางวันใกล้ๆกับทางออก(มันมีอยู่ที่เดียวเลือกไม่ได้นี่) หนนี้เป็น Jeon หน้าตาคล้ายๆแพนเค้กแต่เป็นของคาว ร้านนั้นมีต้นหอมกับปลาหมึก ตอนเจ้าของร้านมาชวนเค้าถามว่า "ลองพิซซ่าเกาหลีมั๊ยคะ" แล้วก็อีกอย่างเป็นแป้งข้าวเหนียวตัดเป็นก้อนๆคลุกกับผักและซอสแดงๆ Before getting on a bus again, we had our lunch just at the entrance. The restaurant lady said "Korean Pizza. Korean Pizza" as an invitation to try the food at her restaurant, so we followed. Jeon is a pancake-like dish with spring onions and seafood; called "pizza" for ignorant foreigners. We got one with squids. Another dish was pieces of sticky rice cake with vegetables and spicy red sauce. กลับไปเอากระเป๋าที่ฝากไว้ที่โรงแรม แล้วก็นั่งรถไฟเร็วไปพูซาน ใช้เวลาหนึ่งชั่วโมงเอง เมื่อถึงพูซานก็แวะ Tourist info เพื่อหาข้อมูลตามระเบียบ ที่สำคัญคือถามหาร้านหนังสือที่ขายหนังสือภาษาอังกฤษ เพราะด้วยความหวังอันริบหรี่กะว่าเมืองใหญ่ขนาดนี้อาจจะหาหนังสือท่องเที่ยวได้ เจ้าหน้าที่ให้โบรชัวร์โมเต็ลใกล้ๆมาด้วย พอไปดูห้องตัวอย่างก็ตกลงเข้าพักเลย ทำไมน่ะเหรอคะก็ห้องกว้าง มีทีวีจอแบนใหญ่ยักษ์ ห้องน้ำกว้างสุดๆพร้อมอ่างอาบน้ำแบบเข้ามุม ที่สำคัญราคาถูกและสะอาด คนข้างๆบอกว่าในขณะที่เครื่องเคียงอาหารเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ห้องพักเราก็ใหญ่ขึ้นเรื่อยๆเหมือนกัน The high speed train from Daegu to Busan took only an hour. We stopped at the tourist office as the first thing to get information about the places, and the most important thing was to find a shop that sold English travel guides. We had a string of hope to find such a book shop in South Korea's 2nd biggest city. The tourist official also gave us a brochure of a motel near by. We checked-in in that one because it had a big room, gigantic flat screen TV, computer with internet, HUGE bathroom with a corner bathtub, and the most important things was that it was cheap and super clean. Alex said that while we got served more and more side-dishes, as our trip unfolded, we also got bigger and bigger rooms for less money. เมืองพูซานเป็นเมืองท่าเลยมีตลาดปลาค่อนข้างใหญ่ และตลาดปลาJagalchi ก็คือที่ที่เราไปหาอาหารเย็นกันนั่นแหล่ะค่ะ คนข้างๆอยากลองปลาดิบ (Saengseonhoe) เราไม่นิยมเท่าไรแต่ชุดเล็กของเค้าก็ใหญ่จนสั่งอะไรอย่างอื่นไม่ได้ เพราะว่ามีเครื่องเคียงตามมาอีกเช่นเคย พอทานไปได้จนอิ่มก็มีหม้อไฟยกมาอีกแต่ปฏิเสธไปเพราะอิ่มมากๆแล้วก็คิดว่าเค้าคิดตังค์ แหมรู้งี๊เก็บท้องไว้หน่อยก็ดี

Busan is a big port city, and its Jagalchi fish market is Korea's biggest. Saengseonhow - raw fish - was something famous over there. I had no interest in raw fish, but Alex craved for it, so we ordered a small one for dinner. Guess what! It came with side-dishes :) The lady brought us a hot pot when we were already full, so we had to refuse. We didn't know that it was coming and included in the price, or we would have spared some space in our stomachs for it.

ขณะกำลังใกล้จะอิ่่มทางเจ้าของร้านก็มีคนมาเปิดศึกด้วยค่ะ สาวนางหนึ่งมาทะเลาะเอาอะไรก็ไม่รู้แต่ดูท่าทางเธอโกรธมากๆ คงเกี่ยวกับเรื่องเงินๆเพราะเห็นมีการดูสมุดบัญชีกันด้วย เสียงดังขึ้นๆเรื่อยๆ จนกระทั่งร้านนี้(ซึ่งมีเรานั่งกันอยู่สองคน) เป็นเป้าสายตาของคนทั้งโถงตลาด ไปๆมาๆก็มีร้านอื่นเข้ามาแจมด้วยอีกแหน่ะ สาวคนที่โกรธคว้ากระชอนตักปลาอันใหญ่ทำท่าจะฟาดเจ้าของร้านเราก็พอดีมีคนมาจับไว้ ท่าทางเค้าจะทะเลาะกันไม่เลิกซะด้วย...ไปดีกว่า ตอนเรากำลังจะเดินออกจากตรงนั้นก็มีตำรวจมาห้ามศึกพอดี จบลงยังไงก็ไม่อาจทราบได้เพราะไม่ได้อยู่รอดู

While we were still eating, our restaurant owner had a fight with one customer lady. That lady was pretty angry and almost hit the restaurant owner with a fishing net (the one used to get fish out of the tank), but others grabbed her arms. They made so much noise and became louder and louder, until the whole market hall watched them. Some people from other restaurants also joined in the argument! It seemed to be an endless fight. Just while we were leaving, the police came. We don't know how it ended ;) เหนื่อยแสนเหนื่อยแต่ด้วยความที่อยู่ที่พูซานแค่คืนเดียว เลยต้องขอแวบไปดูสะพาน Gwangan ซะหน่อย เห็นเค้าว่ากลางคืนสวย Despite our tiredness, we made another stop at Gwangan beach to see the beautiful Gwangan bridge by night.
