The Fire of Anatolia is a Turkish dance group that performs a mixture of fast speed folkloric dance and ballet with pulsating music. Their vigorous movement, colourful costumes and stage light creates an energetic atmosphere. In fact, I run out of words to describe them.
The show comprised of two acts, and only few words of introduction were announced at the beginning of each act. The rest of the performance spurred our imagination. Their vibrant dance fascinated and excited us, yet it was relaxing! If you like how Shakira moves her hips, you will like when you see about a dozen of Shakira moving hips on the stage! The part I liked most was when four guys rapidly danced on their knees and shins! The group used drums to lead the audience to clap along. Have to thanks the audience here that they were as lively as the dancers. This would have been a quite different experience in the previous country where we lived ;). At the end of the show, after the stage curtains closed, you will have a bit of a surprise, so you better not leave the theatre right away. Yes, the curtains will open again, and the dancers will dance a bit more. We were almost the last to leave the hall (as usual), so we saw some of the dancers do their stretching on the stage, and they offered us to take pictures with them. They were so friendly! I really recommend seeing Fire of Anatolia if they happen to be in your city.
